Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) refers to a set of criteria that investors consider when assessing the sustainability and ethical impact of an investment. The “E” aspect of ESG focuses on a company’s impact on the environment, including its carbon footprint, resource usage, pollution levels, and climate change mitigation efforts. “S” factors refers to a company’s treatment of employees, communities, customers, and suppliers, considering issues such as labour practices, diversity and inclusion, human rights, and community engagement. “G” examines a company’s leadership, board structure, executive compensation, transparency, and adherence to ethical business practices.
